Chapter 3 Why Do You Cheat
"Ah, Dad, you’ve come to the county with such difficulty, why are you in such a hurry to go back? Why not stay for a couple of days and at least have a meal before leaving!" Upon hearing that his father was about to leave, Principal Yan became anxious and hurriedly urged him to stay.
You little fellow certainly have a lot of energy. Yesterday, the motorcycle had a problem, and I only arrived in town in the middle of the night. Yet, you still look so spirited this early in the morning. Sitting on the bus from the nearest town to Yanjiacun heading towards the county seat, the old village chief sighed to Wang Shizi with a weary expression.
On this hot summer day, we set off early in the morning. First, we traveled dozens of miles along the mountain roads on a motorcycle, getting dusty and weary. Then, we took a local minibus without air conditioning, which made us break into a sweat. One can easily imagine our appearance at that moment, and as a result, we were naturally stopped at the gate by the security guard
For this matter, Principal Yan has been nagged by his old father all the way, and he particularly cannot find anyone to reason with.
This is a mock examination paper for the college entrance examination in mathematics. Wang Shizi first glanced through the paper from beginning to end and muttered, "Hmm? It seems the old man wasn't wrong; these college entrance exam questions are indeed quite simple!"
None of the major questions provided any solution steps; they only presented an answer, and remarkably, all the answers were correct
The exam paper that was just explained left a deep impression on Teacher Chen. After quickly browsing through the multiple-choice questions at the beginning, he was astonished to find that all the answers were correct. Unable to help himself, Teacher Chen turned to take a good look at Wang Shizi, who was still standing there honestly. He then directly flipped to the last section with the major questions, and after that, Teacher Chen was completely stunned.
Subsequently, Teacher Chen picked up a comprehensive science exam paper, compared it with the correct answers, rolled his eyes, and directly handed the correct answers along with the mathematics paper to Principal Yan, who was still engrossed in the first page of the comprehensive science exam.
In just under half an hour, a mathematics exam paper was completed. However, Prince Wang did not stop there; he set the completed paper aside and took out another Chinese language exam paper from his bag to begin working on it.
Principal Yan stood there with a bitter smile, while Wang Shizi sat comfortably on the sofa in the office, observing with a detached demeanor, his eyes focused on his nose, his nose on his mouth, and his mouth on his heart, as if the matter did not concern him at all
"Ahem, you are called Wang Shizi, aren't you?" After his father left, Principal Yan quickly adopted a composed demeanor in front of the students and asked the little fellow sitting upright on the sofa.
"No, if we wait any longer, there won't be any more cars to the town!" Village Chief Yan waved his hand and refused, saying, "Your third uncle is still waiting for me in town with the village's car. We agreed to return to the village today; there are still many matters to attend to in the village! Alright, I'm leaving now, you don't need to see me off"
Principal Yan was speaking when the phone on his desk suddenly rang. He could not continue his conversation with Wang Shizi and directly answered the call. After responding a few times, he looked up and tapped a folder on his desk, saying to Wang Shizi: "This is how it is, I have some matters to attend to now. I have arranged for someone to prepare several sets of this year's science college entrance examination simulation questions for you. You can start working on them in my office. When the head teacher of the senior three class returns with the team later, I will arrange for someone to take care of your accommodation and meals for the next couple of days."
After muttering to himself, Prince Wang picked up a fountain pen placed on the desk and directly began to answer the questions on the exam paper. However, his posture while holding the pen was somewhat peculiar, and his writing appeared extremely awkward, as if he had never held a pen before, with his ABCD letters written in a crooked manner.
Time passed with the rustling sound of the pen against the paper, the papers in the folder were quickly drawn out, and the stack of written exam papers gradually thickened. Just as Prince Wang finished the last exam paper, placed the fountain pen back in its position, and sat back down on the sofa, a creaking sound was heard as the office door was pushed open. Following that, Principal Yan entered with a middle-aged man.
Upon seeing this, Teacher Chen seemed to have thought of something. He directly picked up the document bag where the exam papers were previously placed and pulled out several scattered sheets of paper from inside. The sheets printed the correct answers for all the exam papers.
Principal Yan looked at Teacher Chen in astonishment, then compared the correct answers with the exam papers. Upon noticing that there were no detailed solutions provided for the major questions on the mathematics and comprehensive science papers, only the answers written, he naturally understood the situation.
"Hmm? Come, let us first take a look at the paper completed by this student Wang," Principal Yan said calmly, then directly walked to his desk. He glanced at the neatly arranged examination papers and casually picked up a comprehensive science paper to read. Following him, Teacher Chen assessed Wang Shizi, who was standing there honestly, from head to toe before stepping forward to specifically select a mathematics paper that he taught.
"Alright, I will leave the child in your care. It is getting late, and I must hurry to catch the bus back to the town!" Village Chief Yan emphasized once again and then prepared to leave in a flurry.
At this moment, the Crown Prince's eyes were completely fixed on the outside of the window. The old village chief said something to him, but he didn't register it at all, merely responding with a casual "mm". This cannot be blamed on the Crown Prince's lack of manners; after all, it had been seventeen years, and this was his first time coming down from the mountain, his first time riding in a vehicle. Everything he was seeing at this moment was too novel for him, almost overwhelming his senses.
Previously, I had seen numerous images online, but where can one find the authenticity of reality? It is no wonder that the Crown Prince behaved in such a manner; to put it plainly, at this moment, the Crown Prince was entirely in the mindset of Liu Laolao entering the Grand View Garden. Therefore, even though the journey was exceptionally bumpy and the carriage was filled with an irritating smell of sweat and fatigue, it did not in the slightest affect the Crown Prince's excitement.
Oh? Why are you sitting here in a daze? Haven't you taken the exam?" Principal Yan asked, looking quite surprised at Wang Shizi, who had just sat back down on the sofa.
Although it is impossible to complete three sets of college entrance examination simulation tests in three and a half hours with all answers correct, having these correct answers changes the situation. Any middle school student could accomplish such a seemingly impossible task.
Fortunately, the old village chief is quite capable of understanding the mindset of the young people. Upon seeing Wang Shizi, who was solely focused on looking out the car window, he merely smiled knowingly and did not say anything further
Having finished speaking, Principal Yan did not wait for Wang Shizi to respond and hurriedly left the office. After watching the principal leave in a flurry, Wang Shizi stood up and directly sat down at the principal's desk, casually opening a sealed examination paper.
According to the principal's recent statement, this unremarkable individual only arrived at school at 1:30 PM this afternoon. It is now not even 5 PM, and he has completed three sets of college entrance examination simulation tests in just over three hours. Is this some kind of international joke
I can tell you that the young master is a good child, and you must not allow him to be bullied like that again" The old village chief, sitting in the principal's office, pointed at his son's nose and instructed.
Father, rest assured, the Crown Prince will definitely not be bullied here. It was just a misunderstanding earlier; once we clarify it, everything will be fine
Having finished speaking, Village Chief Yan decisively left the office in quick strides, leaving Principal Yan, who wore a look of astonishment, along with Wang Shizi, who had been sitting quietly on the guest sofa.
Recently, he completed three sets of simulated exam papers for Chinese, Mathematics, English, and Comprehensive Science, totaling twelve papers! Is he joking? Teacher Chen responded with a look of disbelief.
You have just completed the exam paper!" Wang Shizi stood up and looked at Principal Yan with an innocent expression, saying, "Oh, by the way, I haven't started writing the essays for Chinese and English. I saw online that essays require on-the-spot inspiration, so writing them now would be pointless.
Well, today the senior three students are all going to other schools to familiarize themselves with the examination venues under the guidance of their homeroom teacher. You arrived a bit late, so you might as well not go. After all, it's just... um?
"Yes, Uncle Yan!" Wang Shizi nodded honestly.
Although the road from the town to the county is not particularly good, it is still a highway. The minibus, though old and worn, is indeed a legitimate passenger vehicle. Therefore, after two hours, we arrived at the First Middle School of the county and took a seat in Principal Yan's office
If there were onlookers, they would undoubtedly look down on this fellow to death. However, as time passed minute by minute, and as more and more was written on the exam paper, Prince Wang gradually became more adept at holding the pen, as if he were exploring and adapting to the grip that suited him best. Soon, after ten minutes had passed, having completed the multiple-choice and fill-in-the-blank questions, Prince Wang began to write with great speed, and the characters he wrote started to appear strong and vigorous.
"Excuse me? Teacher Chen, how many sets of college entrance examination simulation papers did you give me?" Upon hearing Wang Shizi's response, Principal Yan was taken aback for a moment, then turned to the middle-aged man behind him and asked.
The old man had a somewhat irritable temperament, and coupled with the fact that Wang Shizi did not appear to be a candidate preparing for the examination, both parties naturally exchanged some unpleasant words in the heat of the moment. However, it must be said that this incident cannot be blamed on the security personnel, as schools should not allow unauthorized individuals to enter freely, especially during the critical period before the college entrance examination, when everyone is wary of any potential issues.
The village chief's words were indeed heartfelt. In the entire Yanjia Village, there is only one dilapidated motorcycle, which is the sole means of transportation connecting the mountain to the town. Generally, this old relic would not be used unless there was an urgent matter. Yesterday, Wang Shizi was fortunate enough to use this motorcycle, thanks to the village chief, and traversed over 80 li of mountain roads. However, the old relic broke down halfway, and it took several hours to repair it, arriving in the town only in the early hours of the morning.
This discovery also made Principal Yan's expression turn grim. He slammed the exam paper he was holding onto the desk with a loud "bang," then glared at Wang Shizi and questioned, "Do you have any idea how much effort your grandfather put in to ensure you could catch up for this college entrance examination, so that you could leave Yan Family Village in the future? Is this how you repay him?"
The village chief's outburst is certainly for a reason
